Our story

OUR STORY

At Mama Jewels, we believe in breastfeeding and the bond it creates between mother and child, as well as the role it plays within the entire family. We are grateful to be able to preserve memories of this beautiful time for all mothers—those who were successful, those who struggled, and those whose children were only with their parents for a short time. We look forward to working with more parents and hearing their stories about the impact breast milk jewelry has had on their lives.

Celebrating Motherhood

Jewelry celebrating motherhood and baby memories is nothing new. For years, people have been saving everything from locks of hair and lost teeth to baby blankets and first shoes.

Breast milk jewelry is a keepsake, symbolizing the closeness and intimacy of the bond between mother and child through breastfeeding, and a celebration of the wonderful achievement you have made.

Whether it's a gift from a man to a woman, a mother to a mother, a mother to a child, or a memento of a life lost, our breast milk jewelry commemorates a time that will pass too quickly. At Mama Jewels, our goal is to create unique and personal jewelry, beautiful symbols of an even more beautiful experience, one you will cherish for the rest of your life and one you can pass on to your children.

Soma's Story

Who am I? I'm Soma, a 28-year-old woman, blessed by a community of sweet, strong, and brave mothers. After traveling extensively and meeting many different people, I graduated from the International Business School Utrecht in 2020. With a jewelry business, I moved from the heart of the Netherlands to Zeeland to embark on a new adventure. There, I trained as a jeweler, and that's when the journey began.

As a child, I was always interested in beads and sparkly things, and I remember playing for hours with my mother's jewelry. The biggest event happened when our house was broken into and all my mother's jewelry and heirlooms were stolen. I reassured my mother, who had just given birth to my little sister, and started making beaded jewelry myself to give her. I also sold them on my dress on Queen's Day (although secretly I wanted to keep them all for myself because of the work involved).

This fascination for sparkling things never left me -, and I went from playing with jewelry as a child to wearing and selling jewelry with my profession as a jeweler at Van der Kooij .

We also create unique breast milk pieces in our own studio, available exclusively at Mama Jewels. I'm grateful that this process allows me to use my passions to create memories for families in the Netherlands and around the world.
