Its blue color helps you focus and see beyond the superficial. It is the stone of kings and wisdom. The stone is also known to have a soothing or healing effect on various physical complaints, such as asthma, stomach aches, joint pain, headaches, and eczema.

In the past, the sapphire was worn by witches and priests because the stone was believed to enable them to predict the future and interpret miracles. The sapphire was believed to lose its luster if the wearer misbehaved, for example, by cheating on their partner. For this reason, married couples often liked to give each other a piece of jewelry with a sapphire. The sapphire represented fidelity in relationships, but also in friendships. The Persians believed that the sky received its color from the reflection of beautiful blue sapphires. This birthstone was therefore already known to the Persians, Romans, and even the Greeks. The sapphire is therefore the national stone of Greece. It was also the stone of the Greek god Apollo, the god of prophecy. This is why the sapphire also became the gemstone of prophecy.
